Application for Special Curbside Assistance

Lightweight and easy to maneuver, our carts are designed with convenience in mind. If you're considering applying for special curbside assistance, we recommend giving the cart a try first—you might find it manageable without help! However, if you’ve tried to move the cart and still require assistance, you may apply for the City’s special curbside collection assistance program. This service is available to residents who are unable to place their cart at the curb and have no one in their household or nearby to assist them. Collection crews will enter private property, move the carts to the curb for collection, and return them to the property afterward.

I hereby apply for this service and agree to the following:

• The resident(s) of this property are not physically able to move a solid waste cart to and from the collection point, and do not have a person to help them with this activity;
• If someone becomes available to assist, I will inform the City of Portage la Prairie that I no longer require this service;
• The cart shall be freely accessible and not placed inside closed buildings or gated areas;
• The City is not responsible for any damage to private property resulting from providing this service.
